Who is God, you say?
God is Cheap Trick
singing on the radio:
"I want you to want Me.
I need you to need Me.
I'd love you to love Me.
I'm beggin' you to beg Me..."
Who is god, you say?
you:
singing along with the Song.
God, singing to god,
singing to God.

HUMMMM… Yes Metta, I started thinking like this sometime in the 80s. I would be out walking in beautiful Balboa Park, San Diego, & suddenly I’d start humming, singing some familiar pop song & I realized I was singing to God!
My goodness, my mind said, that is what all this singing is about, it is about people’s lonely hearts aching for God! It may well be that on one level we’re singing for our flesh & blood bud, but we are Really Rumi, singing out to god!
Sing on girlfriend, I hear you now:)

Now this one was just plain fun Metta!
Thank you!!!
It's why God gave us free will…so that we can love him. The only thing the almighty Lord of the universe can not do…make us love him. He wants us to do that on our own.
Peace~

“I want you, to want me, the way that I wanted you” lyrics by ?
P.S. David, nice perspective in your comments. I never thought of it that way. Beautiful! :o)
the love of parents
naturally occurs from birth
to the parents death
the love of the child
is a condition that fades
to love it’s parents
for love is fleeting
except for those who chase it
actions over words
love should be a verb
demonstrated by our life
all there is is love
Hi Peggy,
It is a wonderful thing when suddenly everything begins to speak to you of God! I wrote this about 5 years ago when it began with me… and, yes, after singing along with cheap trick…
:o )
Ben - :o ) thanks! Yeah… it is fun! :o )
Hi David… that is nice - when I am feeling love for God, or thinking of God, I feel pretty sure that I only have it because God is loving me and thinking of me… it is quite a blissful feeling.
SIA, I'm not sure who wrote the lyrics you quoted. Yes, love is a verb. Thanks for stopping by.

What a cool twist on Cheap Trick, turning their song into something with a DC Talk-type message. Love it.
